Living in Canada

Canada welcomes all new immigrants with open arms and a welcoming environment.

Under our Constitution, Canada is a bilingual country with 2 official languages: English and French. Canada is a country built by immigrants from all parts of the world. The earliest Canadian immigrants, historically, would have to be the Inuit people, living along the northern coast of Labrador who are the direct descendants of a prehistoric hunting society that spread across Canada from Alaska. Over the past three hundred years, we have had significant waves of migrants, first from Europe and, second from Asia.

The immigrants to Canada have come and add to the unique heritage of Canada. Canada is a multicultural country wherein each ethnic community adds to and becomes a part of the cultural mosaic that is Canada: each, while maintaining its ethnic identity, also becomes a part of a larger cultural mosaic that is Canada. Canada is a democratic country with a division of powers as between the federal and provincial levels of government.

Canadians enjoy the freedom of expression and the freedom of religion, as well as the freedom to live and work as and where they please.
